What to Expect from Inside Refrigerator Cleaning in Palm Beach, FL
Serving Palm Beach, Port St. Lucie, and Fort Pierce
Refrigerator interiors emptied, shelves and drawers washed, and surfaces sanitized. Available as an add-on to deep cleans and included in most move-out cleanings.
Refrigerator interiors get booked in two situations that look nothing alike. The first is a seasonal home coming back to life, where the unit has either been off with the door shut or running unattended since May, and somebody needs it clean and empty before groceries arrive. The second is a handover, a sale or move-out where the next person through the door opens that appliance first. There is a third, ordinary case: a family refrigerator wiped wherever a spill showed and never actually taken apart. All three are the same job. Everything comes out, the glass and plastic get washed at the sink, and the liners, seals, and drawer wells are done by hand.
What's Included
- Shelves and drawers taken out, washed in the sink, dried, and returned to their original positions
- Interior walls, door liners, and the rubber gasket wiped down and disinfected
- Sticky spill rings under and behind the crisper drawers cleaned out of the well
- Door shelves and condiment rails wiped, including the underside lips where drips collect
- Freezer compartment wiped where it is accessible, with food returned as it was found
- Handles, exterior panels, and the top of the refrigerator wiped down and dried
- Shelf frames, glass edges, and the trim strip along the front of each shelf cleaned
- Drip channel at the back wall wiped clear where it can be reached without tools
Shelves Come Out, Every Time
Wiping a refrigerator with the shelves in place is not cleaning it, it is cleaning the middle of each shelf. Glass shelves and crisper drawers come out and go to the sink with warm water and dish soap, because the spill rings underneath a drawer are what actually carry the smell. Tempered glass goes into warm water, never hot, since a cold shelf dropped into a hot sink can crack. While those drain and dry, the empty cabinet gets wiped from the top down.
The liners and seals take the detail work. A cloth run into the folds of the door gasket brings out a surprising amount, and that fold is where odor sits longest. Shelf rails, the trim on the front lip of each shelf, and the well under the crisper get handled individually. We use a mild cleaner and dry every piece before it goes back, because moisture left inside a closed box is what starts the next smell. A quick turnover wipes the visible faces and puts wet shelves straight back in.
Why This Matters in Palm Beach
Palm Beach runs on a seasonal rhythm, and the refrigerator is the appliance that shows it most plainly. Houses close up in late spring and sit until fall. Sometimes the unit was shut off with the door closed, the worst version, because whatever was left inside spent the summer in a warm sealed box. Sometimes it ran the whole season on a shelf of forgotten condiments and a box of baking soda that gave up months ago. Either way the gaskets hold the smell and the crisper wells hold a sticky ring that has had time to set hard. The other half of the calendar brings the opposite job, a house being handed off, cleared for a new owner or reset between tenants, where the refrigerator is the first thing anybody opens and the first thing they judge. Both versions need the same patient hour: every shelf and drawer pulled and washed at the sink, the liners and seals wiped by hand, and the whole cabinet dried before the door closes again.
How to Get the Fridge Ready for Us
The single most useful thing you can do is decide about the food before we arrive. By default nothing gets thrown out. Items come out, the cabinet is cleaned, and everything goes back where it was. If you want the unit emptied, leave a note and a bag, or clear it yourself, which makes the job faster. For a house closed for the season, tell us whether the unit has been running, because one switched off with the door shut is a different job.
Timing matters too, and it is worth thinking about a day ahead. If the unit has been off, turn it on and let it come down to temperature before the visit, or plan to leave the door propped once we finish. Book the interior as an add-on to a Deep Cleaning if the kitchen needs the rest. On a Move-In/Move-Out clean it is already included, along with the inside of every cabinet and drawer.
